Accessibility statement

Affinity Acupuncture wants everyone to be able to use this website.

Our commitment

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and we continue to work on improvements. This statement describes our goals and what we have done so far. It is not a certification or a legal opinion.

What we have done

  • A “Skip to content” link at the top of every page.
  • Pages that can be used with a keyboard, with a clearly visible focus outline.
  • Page landmarks and a logical heading structure for screen readers.
  • Text descriptions (alt text) for meaningful images.
  • Text and button colors chosen for strong contrast, and text that resizes with your browser settings.
  • Layouts that adapt to phones, tablets and zoomed screens.
  • Motion that is reduced or switched off when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • Descriptive link text, and a note when a link opens in a new tab.

The accessibility toolbar

The round accessibility button at the bottom of every page opens a toolbar. You can make text larger (up to 200%), switch to high contrast, dark (inverted) or grayscale colors, use a more readable font, highlight links, enlarge the cursor, pause animations, and increase line and letter spacing. Choose “Reset all” to return to your device’s own settings.

The toolbar is an aid. It does not replace an accessible design, and it is not a substitute for your browser, your device’s accessibility settings, or assistive technology such as a screen reader. Your choices are saved only in your own browser. Nothing is sent anywhere, and the toolbar does not use cookies.

Known limitations

  • The new patient forms are a PDF. Some people find PDF forms harder to use with assistive technology. If that is true for you, please contact us and we will work with you to get the information another way.
  • The map on the Contact page is embedded from Google Maps, and the “Get directions” link opens Google Maps in a new tab. We do not control the accessibility of Google Maps.
